AKTU rolls out Blockchain based digital credentials

Lucknow: Students of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) can now access and verify their academic credentials through a blockchain-based digital platform with the university's digital credential system going live.
The system allows students to access their credentials through a digital wallet, while employers and educational institutions can verify academic documents digitally. AKTU's platform is designed to support secure issuance, management and verification of digital certificates and badges.
The move is expected to reduce dependence on physical certificates and make the verification process faster while helping prevent manipulation of academic records. The university had earlier announced the use of blockchain technology for degrees and marksheets, citing concerns over fraud and errors in academic documents.
“Students will receive login credentials to access and print their degree marksheets as required. Blockchain enhances degree and marksheet security.”
