Bitcoin Blockchain technology to verify qualifications on CVs

The UCL Centre for Blockchain Technology piloted a system with Gradbase that lets graduates put a QR code on their CV linking to tamper-proof, blockchain-verified proof of their qualifications.
MSc Financial Risk Management graduates were the first to use the system, which runs on the Bitcoin blockchain to keep verification costs and fraud risk low for employers and universities alike.
UCL described the collaboration as a UK first, with the Centre's leadership noting the university's aim to help make blockchain-based verification mainstream in education.
“Blockchain technology can be used outside of the financial sector.”
